I’ve been a bit quiet on here over the past couple of weeks….Let’s just say along with wedding planning this month, I’ve also found out that I will be an Auntie for the first time on my side to a little baby boy so I’m beyond excited!
On top of that, I’ve also been offered a new job which brings me to this week’s post. A couple of months back I mentioned that I left a job that I was unhappy in to freelancing and taking a break to re-discover my love for art and giving myself some time to re-charge and plan ahead.
Over this period, I have been putting aside time to catch up with friends and visit exhibitions as I believe it is so important not to get stuck in your own little bubble which is something I definitely found myself doing. I felt that my work started to become a bit stale and I began to loose focus on what it was that I was working towards. I basically needed inspiring again!
So, along with visiting London’s Pick me Up Exhibition in April, working with Aspex Gallery on Malene’s new wonderland Exhibition and working at Making Space’s Open Studios event last weekend, I also took the time out to visit a friend who works at Pallant House in Chichester. (This friend also happens to be a freelance photographer, curator and is our wedding photographer which we are so grateful and excited about! )
I’ve never visited Pallant before and it is a lot bigger than I was expecting. With a mix of traditional architecture and the new modern wing, I was so inspired by just the building itself. I visited on an extremely beautiful day which added to the fun and spent almost three hours looking around this beautiful space.
I particularly loved John Pipers Exhibition, Radical Craft ( I loved that they had a bit of bridal inspired work on show for me and my wedding brain by Pascal Tassini) and works by Clare Wood.
I took a few snaps, so I thought I’d share them with you!
